The Pima Community College men’s track & field team finished up the 2026 season on Saturday in the final day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Hobbs, NM.

Sophomore Cedric Cade (third place) and freshman Andrew Schmier (seventh place) earned NJCAA All-American status in the Decathlon while sophomore Jake Applegate broke the Pima Outdoor school record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.32. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team completed the second day of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Friday at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM.

Freshman Noah Brosier took fourth place in the Long Jump with a personal-record of 7.52 meters (24-feet, 8-inches) while sophomore Ketch Sulpizio (far right) became a three-time NJCAA All-American after he tied for fifth place in the Pole Vault at 4.71 meters (15-5.50). The Pima Community College men’s track & field team competed in the first day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Thursday at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM.

The Aztecs Men's Track & Field team earned its fourth straight Region I Team Championship after scoring a total of 247 points. They came away with six individual champions. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team captured its fourth straight Region I Team Championship on Thursday at Mesa Community College. It is their fifth region title in six years.

Sophomore Brent Clark won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:36.80 while fellow sophomore Ketch Sulpizio broke the Pima Outdoor school record in the Pole Vault and placed second with a vault of 5.01 meters (16-5.25) breaking Nick Mossberg's record from 2004. The Aztecs lead in the team standings with 105 points. Mesa Community College is in second place with 101 points. The Region I Championships conclude on Thursday at Mesa Community College. The Pima Community College men’s track & field competed in the first day of the Region I Championships on Tuesday at Mesa Community College.

Sophomore Cedric Cade became a two-time Region I Champion in the Decathlon as he took first place with a total of 6324 points. He took first place in five events. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team opened the Region I postseason on Monday and Tuesday as it competed at the Region I Multi’s and 10K Championships at Mesa Community College.

Freshman Andrew Smith (Tanque Verde HS) set an NJCAA national qualifying time in the 1,500 meter race (3:55.69) while fellow freshman Elizabeth Ugwu (Sahuaro HS) improved on her qualifier in the Shot Put (13.52 meters, 44-4.25) and moved to No. 3 on the Pima school all-time list. The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams competed in their final regular season meet on Saturday at the GCC Outdoor Invitational at Glendale Community College.

Pima Community College men’s track & field athlete Taylor Brown (Centennial HS, NV) had quite a showing at the ACCAC Conference Meet last Friday at Mesa Community College and his efforts received notice from the conference.

The Pima Community College men’s track & field team captured the ACCAC Conference Team Championship on Friday at Mesa Community College.

The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams opened the 2026 Outdoor Season on Friday and Saturday at the Paradise Valley CC Multi’s and Invitational.

Sophomore Cedric Cade (sixth place) and Andrew Schmier (seventh place) earned All-American statius in the Heptathlon while the 4x800 relay team of Danny Knapp, Eduardo Aviles, Tayvien Biancuzzo and Noah Macias broke the Pima Indoor school record and took eighth place. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team finished out the 2026 Pima Indoor regular season schedule on Tuesday at the Pima Indoor Multi’s Meet at the West Campus Aztec Track.

Sophomore Ketch Sulpizio (Gila Ridge HS) tied the Pima Indoor school record in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.75 meters (15-feet, 7-inches) while freshman Tya Starkey (Casteel HS) entered the Top 5 list Pima Indoor School history and set her second improved mark in the Pole Vault with a mark of 3.25 meters (10-8). The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the NAU Tune-Up meet on Friday at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, AZ.

Sophomore Cedric Cade and freshman Danny Knapp (Rio Rico HS) each set two NJCAA national qualifiers at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational. Cade earn qualifiers in the High Jump (2.03 meters, 6-feet, 8-inches) and the Long Jump (7.15 meters, 23-5.5) and Knapp set his qualifiers in the 600-meter (1:22.52) and 800-meter (1:56.22) races. The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the Don Kirby Elite Indoor Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center hosted by the University of New Mexico.

Freshman distance runner Noah Macias (Mica Mountain HS) was named ACCAC Co-Track Athlete of the Week after he took first place in the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.51.
