The Pima Community College softball team (48-10) played its final games of the 2026 season on Thursday at the NJCAA Division II World Series in Spartanburg, SC.

Freshman Isabel Mendoza (Cienega HS) produced two of Pima's four hits on the day, going 2-for 2 with a walk but the No. 8 seeded Aztecs Softball team fell to No. 9 Des Moines Area Community College 6-0 in their first game at the NJCAA Division II World Series. The Pima Community College softball team (47-9) opened play in the NJCAA Division II World Series on Wednesday at the Tyger River Park in Spartanburg, SC.

Sophomores Jake Applegate and Mason Heisser earned NJCAA All-American recognition in the final day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships. Applegate took fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles and Heisser placed sixth in the Triple Jump. The Aztecs finished in 14th place with a total of 23.50 points. The Pima Community College men’s track & field team finished up the 2026 season on Saturday in the final day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Hobbs, NM.

Sophomore Kymia Bridgett capped off her season earning sixth place in the Triple Jump and securing her NJCAA All-American status as the Aztecs Women's Track & Field team finished in 21st place with a final team score of 10 points. The Pima Community College women’s track & field team closed out the 2026 season on Saturday in the final day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Hobbs, NM.

Sophomore Cedric Cade (third place) and freshman Andrew Schmier (seventh place) earned NJCAA All-American status in the Decathlon while sophomore Jake Applegate broke the Pima Outdoor school record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.32. The Pima Community College women’s track & field team completed the second day of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Friday at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM.

Freshman Noah Brosier took fourth place in the Long Jump with a personal-record of 7.52 meters (24-feet, 8-inches) while sophomore Ketch Sulpizio (far right) became a three-time NJCAA All-American after he tied for fifth place in the Pole Vault at 4.71 meters (15-5.50). The Pima Community College men’s track & field team competed in the first day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Thursday at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM.

Freshman Tyra Starkey (Casteel HS) earned NJCAA All-American status after taking eighth place in the Pole Vault with a mark of 3.31 meters (10-feet, 10.25-inches). The Pima Community College softball team is heading back to the NJCAA Division II World Series as the seeding announcements were released on the NJCAA Network.

The Pima Community College Softball Team secured its third consecutive Region I Championship (Division I 2024, Division II 2025, 2026) after beating South Mountain Community College 1-0 in the final game of the tournament. The Pima Community College softball team (46-7) had to play extra frames on Friday in the second day of the Region I, Division II Tournament on Friday at the West Campus Aztec Field.

Freshman Adriana Machado (Canyon del Oro HS) threw a complete game shutout, giving up nine hits with five strikeouts and three walks while sophomore Clarissa Figueroa (Mountain View HS) finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs as the No. 1 seeeded Aztecs Softball team opened the Region I, Division II Tournament with a 7-0 win over No. 4 Scottsdale Community College. The Pima Community College softball program produced a program-record of 11 representatives on the All-ACCAC Conference Teams.

Freshman Soleil Ponce (Sunnyside HS) finished the day 6-for-9 with four RBIs and two runs scored while fellow freshman Angelina Dehler (Empire HS) went 4-for-7 with five RBIs and a run scored as the No. 7 ranked Aztecs Softball team split at Phoenix College and captured the ACCAC Conference Championship. The Pima Community College softball team (44-7, 36-6 in ACCAC) closed out the regular season on Saturday at Phoenix College (37-11, 31-11).
