Isaiah Hill and Will Feagles combine for 39 points as Men's Basketball beats Chandler-Gilbert for their 20th straight win
The Pima Community College men's basketball team (20-0, 9-0 in ACCAC) found itself in a low-scoring affair on Wednesday as it hit the road for the first time since Dec. 17.
- The No. 5 ranked Aztecs scored a season-low point total but still defeated Chandler-Gilbert Community College 69-54 for their 20th straight win.
- Up 37-31, the Aztecs created some breathing room with a 12-1 run that lasted six and-a- half minutes to go up 49-32 with 11:26 left. They maintained the double-digit advantage, but the Coyotes chipped away to cut it to 62-49 with 4:51 left. The Aztecs halted their momentum with a 7-0 run to take their biggest lead of the game at 69-49 with 2:00 left.
- The Aztecs used a 7-0 run in the first half to go up 26-17 as freshman Will Feagles (Notre Dame Prep) capped the run with his second 3-pointer of the game to make it 26-17. Feagles had eight points in the half while freshman Isaiah Hill (Premier Prep Academy) posted 11 points as Pima led 32-27 at the break.
- Hill finished with a team-high 20 points to go with six steals and three rebounds.
- Feagles went 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and finished with 19 points.
- Sophomore Mason Hunt (Bradshaw Mountain HS) added nine points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks while fellow sophomore Isaac Johnson posted six points, six rebounds and two blocks.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday when they host South Mountain Community College at 4:00 p.m.
