Jumper Kymia Bridgett earns third selection as ACCAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Pima Community College women's track & field athlete Kymia Bridgett (Dunbar HS, Washington D.C.) added another accolade to her stellar season.

  • Bridgett, a sophomore, was named ACCAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season for the week of Apr. 5-11. Her first nod came during the week of Jan. 25-31 at the CAC Indoor Invitational, and her second selection came at the NAU Tune-Up meet for the week of Feb. 15-21.
  • She took first place in the Triple Jump at the GCC Outdoor Invitational after completing her final attempt at 12.20 meters (40-feet, 0.50-inches), an Outdoor season personal-record. Bridgett beat out Grand Canyon University's Madyson Goodman, who took second place (11.30 meters) and Lily Cook, who finished third (11.13 meters).
  • Bridgett's overall PR is 12.58 meters (41-feet, 3.25-inches), set when she claimed the Triple Jump national title at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships.

The men's and women's track & field teams will compete at the Region I Multi's and 10K Championships on Apr. 20-21 at Mesa Community College. The Region I Championships will be on Apr. 28 and Apr. 30 also at Mesa Community College.
