Max Majerle averages 21 points to snag ACCAC Player of the Week honors

Pima Community College men's basketball player Max Majerle (Arcadia HS) was a big part of two more ACCAC conference wins during the week of Feb. 16-22.

  • Majerle, a sophomore guard, was selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Week as he became the third Aztec to receive the honor. It was the fifth week a Pima men's basketball player had been named for the award.
  • Majerle averaged 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals as the Aztecs beat Glendale Community College and Mesa Community College. He also shot 67 percent from the field (16 for 24), 50 percent from beyond the arc (5 for 10) and 83 percent from the free throw line (5 for 6).
  • He is averaging 15.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game playing and starting in 28 games this season.

The No. 1 ranked Aztecs (29-0, 17-0 in ACCAC) close out the regular season on Saturday when they host Scottsdale Community College at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
