Julia Baird totals 23 kills and 14 digs to earn ACCAC Division II Offensive Player of the Week

Pima Community College volleyball player Julia Baird (Viewmont HS, UT) was a big part of two victories during the week of Oct. 19-25.

Baird, a sophomore opposite hitter, was named ACCAC Division II Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second straight week a Pima volleyball player was awarded Offensive Player of the Week as sophomore Maggie McReynolds (Mountain View HS) took home the honor the week before.
Baird totaled 23 kills on 46 attacks (.333), 14 digs, four blocks and six aces as the Aztecs upset No. 16 Scottsdale Community College and beat Phoenix College. Pima won both matches in straight sets.
She has 176 kills (2.29 per set) on 480 attacks (.156), 181 digs (2.35 per set), 32 blocks, 23 aces and 219.5 points in 21 matches and 77 sets played so far this season.

The Aztecs have two road matches remaining in the regular season. They play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College tonight at 7:00 p.m.
