Aztecs Men's Cross Country runs 8K race at Dave Murray Invitational
The Pima Community College men's cross country team competed in its second meet of the season on Saturday at the Dave Murray Invitational hosted by the University of Arizona.
- The No. 22 ranked Aztecs finished in seventh place with a team score of 189 points. The Aztecs beat out Mesa Community College in the final team standings as they posted a score of 200 points. The other competing teams were NCAA Division I programs. The University of Arizona was first with 41 points.
- Freshman Jose Hernandez (Rio Rico HS) was the top finisher for the Aztecs as he took 32nd place out of 90 competitors. He closed out the 8K (4.97 mile) race with a time of 25 minutes, 52.4 seconds.
- Freshman Kallen McCracken (Mountain Ridge HS) finished in 46th place with a closing time of 26:30.6. Sophomore Tayvien Biancuzzo (Mica Mountain HS) took 52nd place at 26:46.7.
- Sophomore Noah Brunet (Ironwood Ridge HS) crossed the finish line in 63rd place at 27:14.8 and freshman Myles Oliver rounded out Pima's top five taking 64th at 27:15.5.
The Aztecs will compete at the Al Shirley Invitational next Saturday, Oct. 4 held at Central Arizona College in Coolidge, AZ. The first race begins at 7:00 a.m.
