Nasir Tucker earns All-american honors in Long Jump after first day at NJCAA National Championships

The Pima Community College men's track & field team closed out the first day of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Thursday in West Monroe, LA.

The Aztecs are tied for 14^th place in team standings with two points as four of the 22 events were scored.
Freshman Nasir Tucker took seventh place in the Long Jump with a mark of 7.28 meters (23-feet, 10.75-inches) on his fifth attempt. His season-best was 7.59 meters (24-11) when he captured the region title at the Region I Championships earlier this month.

Other Pima finishes at the NJCAA Division I Championships:

Louis Madrigal-Diaz (North Canyon HS), Caelan Pando, Evan Rasoumoff (Catalina Foothills HS), Wyatt Preble (Salpointe Catholic HS) – 14^th in 4x800 relay 8:03.94.

The Aztecs continue competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Friday at Brown Stadium in West Monroe, LA.
