Seven Aztec Baseball players earn All-ACCAC/All-Region; Kruk, Cereceres and Martinez named Gold Glovers
The Pima Community College baseball team was well represented as the ACCAC released its All-Conference and All-Region teams.
- Freshman catcher Cooper Kruk (Catalina Foothills HS) was named First Team All-ACCAC/All-Region and to the ACCAC Division II Gold Glove Team.
Kruk batted .378 with a team-leading nine home runs with 38 RBIs, 38 runs scored and 16 walks in 127 at-bats. He had 48 hits and tied for the team-lead with 14 doubles in 40 games played. He had a .988 fielding percentage with 231 putouts. - Freshman infielder Adriel Figueroa-Brito (Sandia HS, NM) was selected First Team All-ACCAC/All-Region.
Figueroa-Brito batted .382 and led the team with 28 steals and tied for the team-lead with 50 runs scored. He also had 38 RBIs, 25 walks and 10 doubles. He had 65 hits in 170 at-bats in 50 games played. He also had three homers and two triples as well as a .919 fielding percentage with 63 putouts and 74 assists. - Sophomore outfielder Mike Jones (Canyon del Oro HS) was named First Team All-ACCAC/All-Region.
Jones batted .350 with four home runs, 36 RBIs and 25 runs scored in 117 at-bats. He had 41 hits, 11 doubles, eight walks and four stolen bases in 36 games played. He had a .978 fielding percentage with 43 putouts. - Freshman right-handed pitcher Jesse Neretlis (Waikiki HS, Australia) was named Second Team All-ACCAC/All-Region.
Neretlis went 4-2 with a 3.69 ERA in 46.1 innings pitched, making 13 appearances and eight starts. He gave up 19 earned runs and had 46 strikeouts and 24 walks. - Sophomore infielder Jackson Glueck (Staley HS, MO) was selected Second Team All-ACCAC/All-Region.
Glueck batted .390 with a team-leading 52 RBIs, 71 hits and a team-tying 14 doubles to go with 39 runs scored and 23 walks. He hit six home runs and had nine steals in 182 at-bats and 52 games played. He had a fielding percentage of .967 with 295 putouts and 28 assists. - Sophomore outfielder Leon Cereceres (Rio Grande HS, NM) was chosen Second Team All-ACCAC/All-Region and also selected to the ACCAC Division II Gold Glove Team.
Cereceres led the Aztecs with 188 at-bats and a team-tying 50 runs scored. He batted .324 with 61 hits, 25 RBIs, 24 walks, 20 stolen bases, 12 doubles, two triples and one homer in 52 games played. He had a .990 fielding percentage with 100 putouts at center field. - Freshman designated hitter Damian Lorta (Desert View HS) was named Second Team All-ACCAC/All-Region.
Lorta batted .357 with a team-tying 14 doubles and 26 walks to go with six home runs, 34 RBIs, 29 runs, 40 hits in 112 at-bats and 42 games played. - Sophomore infielder/short stop Ramon Martinez (La Cueva HS, NM) was named to the ACCAC Division II Gold Glove Team.
He produced a .935 fielding percentage with 59 putouts and 100 assists. He batted .231 with 27 runs scored, 18 RBIs and 26 walks.
The Aztecs closed out the season at 28-25 overall and 20-20 in ACCAC conference play. They missed out on the postseason for the first time since 2022 but won 20 ACCAC conference games for the seventh consecutive year. Head coach Ken Jacome is 293-133 in eight seasons with the Aztecs.
