Pole vaulter Chavez signs to Idaho State University

Pima Community College track & field student-athlete Tony Chavez (Bisbee HS) signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday.

Chavez, a sophomore pole vaulter, signed to compete for Idaho State University starting next fall. He will join former Pima jumpers Hannah Bartz (Mountain View HS) and Treyshone Malone (Yuma Catholic HS) who are currently juniors with the Bengals.

Chavez earned All-Region honors after he took fourth place at the Region I Championships. He took eighth place at the NJCAA Division I National Championships.

The Pima track & field season begins in January.
